There are always questions about how we run our artistic sessions. Hopefully your questions can be answered here. If not, then please feel free to message us with your question and we will endeavour to answer asap.
How long do the session’s take ?
The session’s are around 3 hours long, taking in the fact that the paint needs to dry sometimes before starting on the next step. This also gives some social time in between to chat with your fellow painters and a bit of a nibble. It is preferred, however, that everyone arrive just before the session time so as we can get working on our masterpieces.
There is also the factor of group size. The more people there are, the longer it will take. Sometimes painters need a little help along the way which takes time too.
Do I need to book ahead?
Yes, you will need to book at least a week ahead, but if you message us closer to a preferred day we can certainly try to accommodate you.
What does the cost include?
The session cost includes your canvass, your paint and equipment use. It also includes step by step instruction and assistance with your chosen painting.
Do I need a deposit?
For a set session at the studio there is no need for a deposit, unless there is a larger group. A $100 deposit and all details will be required to secure your booking if there are more than 4 in your group.
What sort of events can you cater for?
We encourage any sort of events. These may include any social groups, hens party’s, retirees, mums and bub’s. Just contact us to discuss anything you had in mind.
What is required if I host a Shiraz Palette session at home or work?
All that is required is enough table space to set up a table easel for each guest, an area for me to be seen from everyone’s position, access to running water and a group of eager artists.
You can tailor your session to include anything you like. Imagination is your only limit. Some just have cheese and wine nights. Others have had a session blended into a dinner party. Even a nice morning tea with friends is a lovely way to enjoy it.
What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel, then we ask that you do so no less than 48 hours before your session. Any cancelation of a session after this time will incur a 20% surcharge.
If there is someone that is a “no show” at the session, then their payment is forfeited and no refund will be given.
Do I have to do the painting that is instructed?
There are set sessions at the studio that will be open to bookings for individuals and group bookings.
On booking a private session, you will be asked to choose from a selection of paintings for us to instruct your group. But, if you have a particular picture you would like done by the group then we can certainly discuss options. For an extra fee, a customised painting can be organised. There may be a particular theme you would like to explore or an idea you had in mind.
I can’t paint!!
Everyone can paint!!
It doesn’t matter whether you are an accomplished artist or someone who has never picked up a paintbrush. The aim is to come along and have some lighthearted fun. There are no expectations and not one painting is ever the same. We all have our own unique painting in the end and thats pretty special.
Can I keep my painting?
Yes, of course! Your creation is your own little token of the experience. You get to take it home to take pride of place anywhere you choose to put it.
Do I have to have the session at home?
You can host a session just about anywhere! We have regular sessions with a set painting every second Saturday and the alternate Friday nights at Elemental Shell art space in Belivah.
If you want to have it at work, at home or even out in the park, we can work together to create a session that works for you. In fact, very soon, the shiraz palette will have a home base. A magical art space where you can come along and not have to worry about getting paint on your floor.
